Who is UV Kit for?
For anyone who spends real time outdoors: a beach day, the garden, a long walk, or a toddler in the buggy. Fair skin burns in minutes — UV Kit tells you how many you have left.
What does UV Kit cost?
The app is free with ads. The optional Pro upgrade removes ads and the watermark and unlocks detailed weather data, as a subscription or a one-time purchase. The price is shown in Google Play.
How does UV Kit make money?
Through ads in the free version and the optional Pro upgrade. Ads are delivered by Google AdMob, so the app is not ad-free and not tracking-free — Pro switches the ads off.
Where does the UV index come from?
UV Kit sends your GPS position to our own weather service and gets back the current UV index and the forecast for that area. Prefer not to share your location? Manual mode lets you set the value yourself.
How does the protection timer work?
It estimates how long your skin stays protected from your Fitzpatrick skin type, your sunscreen SPF and the current UV index — then warns you when it is time to reapply or move into the shade.
What is the UV simulator?
It takes a photo and simulates how ultraviolet light would reveal sun damage, side by side with protected skin. It is made for awareness, not for a medical diagnosis.
Which devices are supported?
Android phones are supported now, an iPhone version is in preparation. There is no web or desktop version, because location, camera and notifications are needed.
Which languages does the app speak?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi and Indonesian.
